More on Cycle Paths

More good news on further developments with our local cycle paths here in Derby.
Work is well advanced on improvements to the roadside path which forms part of NCN R54 between the Pektron roundabout and the Little Eaton (A38/A61) roundabout.
Previously this was a narrow and poorly surfaced pavement with an overgrown hawthorn hedge on one side and fast moving traffic on the other. Probably one of the most dangerous cycle routes hereabouts.
The hedge has been removed and a full width shared path is being laid.
There is talk of a Toucan crossing over the A61 here, linking to Croft Lane, which would provide a safe link to Breadsall village and the Breadsall Greenway (NCN 672).

Approach to A38/A61 roundabout with an excellent Armco barrier.
