The Folding Society

The Folding Society is not, as you might think, an organisation in decline, but a
group of folding bike enthusiasts who run monthly bike rides throughout  the country.
They have just published their programme for the coming year, and since several of the rides are in our locality, it may be worth penciling them in on your nice new calendar  Anyone with a folding bike is welcome to go along.  No need to book or pay anything - just turn up at the start, which is usually at a suitable cafe and lunch is taken on the ride at a country pub. All rides are on a Saturday.
Watch this blog for details of the start of each ride as the date approaches.

Here is the 2016 list of "Origami Rides".

Thanks for that les. Have made a note. I joined one two years ago at Duffield to Wirksworth - it was hilly but very interesting.

Went on the ride from Gosford Air Museum to Telford, and back. I usually get lost in Telford but we used the Silk Way which follows the alignment of the former railway to Coalbrookdale: not very well signed but passes through the middle of Telford, avoiding many of the roundabouts. Incidentally, access to the Air Museum is free, providing you do not arrive by car.

The route from Derby on 12 March has not been decided yet, one of the main considerations being the availability of pubs willing to feed an unpredictable number of cyclists - like Whetherspoons.

Note to Google spellcheck: Cosford and Gosford are not the same place.
