A potential ride in 2012

Yesterday I went to the Warley Model Railway Exhibition at the NEC - probably the biggest exhibition of its kind in this country. There were numerous stands advertising all sorts of rail connected ventures. One of these was the Statfold Barn Railway near Tamworth. See the website below:

http://www.statfoldbarnrailway.co.uk/

Although privately owned it opens to the pubic 3 times next year. I am definately going to go and thought it would make a good ride out (or we could go one way by train to or from Tamworth.) All 3 days are Saturdays; 31st March, 2nd June and 15th September.  One has to apply in writing - I have a form which will accomodate a group - and a contribution of £8 per person is sought for local charities. Anyone interested in the 31st March date please comment or e-mail me.

Editors Note
Nick Potter gives a map reference for this place, that being SK 239066 and here is a map of the location.

Just as an afterthought - we could go for lunch to the Pretty Pigs pub used on the Camp Conkers ride to Tamworth Castle.

Sounds a very interesting day. I would like to be included.

Looking at the web site this seems to be rather more than just a model railway - more of a large narrow gauge private railway in beautiful surroundings and well worth a visit.
Put me on the list along with the three anonymous bookings, who I think may be one person who has been leaning on the "enter" key.

The Statfold Barn Railway is well worth a visit. When I visited, a few years ago, catering was by 'burger van'. Google maps does not show the actual location - but it's not far out. Will bring info on the 13th next.
