Three Cycle Paths

At present work is in hand on three new cycle paths.
Pictured above is a new path at Etwall giving access to R54 at Kingfisher Bridge, about 150m West of the Old Station Gate. This path winds rather gracefully from the new housing developmen at the bottom of Old Station Close, crossing the small stream with a concrete based watersplash. There are to be no gates or barriers, and the path will not be opened until the new houses are occupied.

Another path on R54 between Birch Trees Farm (Egginton) and The Mease (Hilton) is almost finished but the builders are still very slow in completing it.

The third path, crossing Darley Park to join Handyside's Bridge with Darley Abbey village is at the planning stage at present, permission having been refused at the first attempt in February.
The DCC Planning Committee meets 23rd September at 6.30pm and this meeting can be viewed live on the Derby City Council website.
There has been increased public suport for the project this time round and we are hopeful that it will get the go-ahed.
