Trent and Mersey Canal, Bridge 20 at Stenson
A previous blog article referred to the damage to this bridge by a tractor/trailer unit in 2008. It was repaired recently to a heritage standard by contractors working for British Waterways. An "event" is taking place at the bridge on Saturday October 2nd at 11.30am to celebrate the re-opening, attended by various local bigwigs from local authorities, BW etc. The public are invited. The bridge is located at roughly SK320300 and can be reached either from Findern by taking the lane past the church or from the minor road which runs from the Stenson Bubble to Findern.

Also accesible from Stenson Lock by way of the towpath. The refurbished bridge is the first one you come to when riding towards Willington.
Cafe at Stenson Lock is very good and very popular. See you there for a cup of tea after.
