Skylink Derby to Loughborough and Leicester or vice versa

24th March 2011

Yesterday, Jan and I used the Skylink bus from Derby Bus Station to have a look around Loughborough, having intended to do so for some time. Utilising bus passes of course. These buses have enormous luggage
racks, which would take a folder fairly easily I think. Might even manage a normal cycle but not sure what the drivers reaction would be. Anyone ever tried it? A very round about route is taken, and a circuit of the East Midlands Airport incorporated. This bus will stop at any bus stop on the journey, travelling through some out of the way villages.

Yes, we have tried this as a means of getting bikes to Leicester. No problem with folding bikes. As you say these buses have excellent luggage carrying provision. I am pretty sure that they would not take full size bikes.
Originally, you had to change buses at EMA but perhaps the one bus now runs through to Leicester via EMA.

It does go through to Leicester wthout changing at EMA. Every half hour over 24 hours. Anyone for a midnight ride??
