Hopwell Hall bridleway
A supposedly new bridleway, or more correctly, and upgraded footpath, has been created recently from B5010 Nottingham Road, Derby to Boyah Grange near Dale Abbey. Today I went to have a look at what it was like. Apparently nothing has been done. Cattle grids and unopenable gates with stiles the norm. Certainly not negotiable on horse back, although at one point I noticed a cycle tyre track! I need to seek out the original order for this to see what has gone awry. A return section is in the prcess of going through the planning, and this also I need to look at. A notice on a telegraph pole near Boyah Farm seem to indicate that this section was going to be what used to be termed a 'RUPP'. This would allow off road vehicles to use it, and that would not be conducive to cycling and walking!

I have since, been in touch with the relevant authority, and I now await an update.
