Les's comments and photos made interesting reading, and illustrates how rapidly things are being improved for we outdoor folk. Our 'oldies' walking group did a circular walk along this self same route in October 2010. Much improved since then it appears. Attached are a few photos which I took on our walk. Compare with Les's to see the differences. Re the track that seems to disappear just after passing under the stoop down bridge. This is shown on maps as a bridleway which runs up against the new road and does not continue. Only alternative is the steps mentioned by Les. It would be interesting to know if the sign as in one of my photos re 'No cycling' has been changed. JohnS
