Cycling England

Today marks the end of Cycling England, which did much to encourage greater interest in cycling over it's six years of existence. On a local scale it designated Derby as one of the original "Cycling Demonstration Towns", resulting in the formation of Cycle Derby which in turn has been very successful in training thousands of Derby's schoolchildren to ride bikes safely. The success of the BMX track at Alvaston has been quite amazing.
All good things come to an end however, but Cycle Derby lives on in spite of a serious reduction in staff.
A good time totake a look at the Cycling England web site, which includes a summary of  the work done at Cycle Derby,

Take a look at  http://www.dft.gov.uk/cyclingengland/
