More Delays

Sometimes delays to projects are no bad thing, and that is the case here.

Firstly, the planning application for the re-build of Burnaston House does not now go before the SDDC Planning Committee on August 23rd after all. So another month's grace here. The longer the delay with this the better, although we understand that the applicant has applied to put a gas main all the way down Bannels Lane, and there is talk of an archaeological survey being carried out. The purpose of the survey is a mystery to us.

Secondly, the date for the lift of the new Longhorse Bridge by the magnificent 1000 tonne crane has now been put back to September 15th, neatly avoiding a clash with Camp Conkers. How thoughtful of the contractors. The bridge is being contructed at Chepstow so you might see it on the M5, M42 or M50 en route to site.
