The Good News regarding the Breadsall Greenway
The next extension moves a step nearer with the announcement that the owners of the land (Broomfield College I think) have agreed to the proposal to give the existing footpath bridleway designation.
Planning permission will soon now be sought, and then comes the big issue of finance for the project.
£235,000 is required and this seems unlikely to be met with much enthusiasm by Derbyshire council taxpayers in the light of the present financial squeeze. However, it is quite likely that grants may be available from other government sources, and hey, Sustrans might even chip in with a few quid.

The Bad News regarding Burnaston House.
The original planning application to re-build a large house (under the guise of the previously demolished Burnaston House) next to R54, was rejected by the local council last year, but the application is now re-submitted with some very minor changes. We are looking into how we can best object once more.
