Some interesting signs see on our way North.
Travelling on four wheels, not two, by the way, although I did ride a few miles on R68 just to see what it is like.

This is the sign at the Northern end of our Route 68, the Pennine Cycleway.
It stands opposite the railway station in Berwick-upon-Tweed.

As you enter Berwick from the South on NCN Route 68, you are met with this welcoming sign.
Perhaps we should have something similar in Derby to welcome cyclists travelling in the opposite direction.

This Sustrans milepost on NCN Route 1 stands in the grounds of the Primary School at Cromarty. where the route crosses the Cromarty Firth by ferry. The post has been painted by the school children.


The distances quoted on the milepost make interesting reading.
Going North, Thurso, where Route 1 starts, is 125 miles.
Going South, Dumfiries is 410 miles!
Some ride that is.
