In November 2000, after a prolonged period of heavy rain, there was serious flooding in Derby, the River Derwent being 10 or 12 feet above normal level.The centre photograph shows the normal situation.
Below - the scene on Darley Fields where NCN Route 54 lies beneath the flood waters.
The River Derwent would normally be almost out of shot to the left of the picture.
