Those were the Days (1)


Next year is the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Mickleover Greenway and so now is a good time to see some pictures of what it used to look like in the past.
Here is a photograph looking eastwards towards Mickleover Station in the 1960s when BR were using the track for development testing.
The large engine shed was demolished after the new path opened.
This photograph appears to have been taken from the first brick bridge, of which now only the piers survive.
