Erewash Valley Trail

Here is a picture of the Erewash Canal towpath at Long Eaton, looking north, with Long Eaton Lock in the background. The footbridge carries Route 6 (Derby to Nottingham) over the canal. As you can see, the towpath has been resurfaced to a very high quality and extends - at the moment - from Trent Lock to Pastures Lock, Sandiacre. This is part of the new Erewash Valley Trail which is due to open officially next year. I would encourage you all to ride it whenever you get the opportunity. It really is good!
