Path in Darley Park

Some months ago, a proposal to put a multi-user path alongside the River Derwent in Darley Park was rejected by a single vote. One of the objections was that motor-cyclists would use it and the other was that the proposed tarmac surface would be visually obtrusive.
One of the things that we have learned over the years is that in such matters, we must make ourselves heard.
This path is a vital link between Handyside's Bridge (Derby Rowing Club building) and the new path which DCC have recently completed from Evans Mill Bridge to South Avenue and the A6 road crossing the A38 at the Palm Court roundabout.
Derby City Council web site has provision for the public to support or to object to planning proposals, this being the best way to voice our opinion.
So please take a look at the details and if you wish to support the proposal, follow the procedure.
The planning application number is 08/10/00987 and you can access the details on

There will no doubt be more objections, so if you haven't already voted, please do.
