Workdays on R54

Yesterday's workday at Sutton Lane was very successful, the large bonfire providing us (and the village of Etwall) with heat that has not been experienced for weeks.
It eventually transformed a gigantic pile of tree prunings into a somewhat smaller pile of ash, which is probably still warm this morning, even after a hard overnight frost.
Thanks to Mavis Ratcliffe who provided us with most welcome tea, coffee, and sausage rolls, before going off to support Derby County in their great defeat of Nottinghan Forest. Well done Mavis (10/10) and well done Derby (1-0).
Next Saturday February 6th, there is another work day with bonfire on R54 at Radbourne. Anytime after 9am at the One Mile Seat which is (would you believe) one mile from Mickleover Station.
Come along and get warm.

Yes, a good fire yesterday and much appreciated by the passing walkers. Perhaps we should do a baked potato stall with our bonfires?
Next Saturday is February 6th, not 5th.

Yes Les. Lots of people no doubt read this 'rubbish' as you call it, but it shows that things are being done. Keep the rubbish coming and here is my two pennor'th. (not quite sure if that is how to write it, but you know what I mean.)

So, Derby beat Forest – I am amazed. No doubt Mavis is baking a celebratory cake!

Well done with the fire.
