R6 Diversion along Raynesway

Checking the route prior to affixing yellow Sustrans diversion stickers I discovered that, since my last check, the route has been signed to a good standard with large yellow signs. The last photograph shows the sign at the eastern end of the diversion. To cover the point made by Tony (and to justify my trip!) I have affixed yellow stickers on the traffic light posts at the pedestrian/cycle crossing of Raynesway. Photo 1 shows this. In the background to the left of the traffic light posts and to the right of the large road sign can be seen the next of the "official" diversion signs going east.

The path from the A6 by-pass to the river was receiving attention as I passed with a new sub structure of ballast sized stones and a top layer, being rolled, of crushed dust. The heavy vehicle work seems to have finished and the area next to the river has been tidied up and landscaped. It's altogether much better.
