It didn't rain today, (makes a change!), so our choice of date for a busy day out was good. However, the cold north easterly wind kept temperatures low so we had to cancel the planned photoshoot for the 2010 Nude Rangers Calendar by Locke, (the antithesis of "How to Look Good Naked" by Gok),and just do the one of the cyclists and the trains on Eastgate Bridge. As you might expect, we waited ages for a train to come along, and then two came at once.
On then to the Breadsall Greenway to further improve the security of the vandalised seat, and that done, back to Morrison's cafe for lunch.
Replete, we returned to the Greenway to make a start on putting up our first Sustrans signs proclaiming it as Route 672 of the NCN and others requesting that dog owners clear up after their pets.
John Swan's photo shows the team after putting up signs at Paddock Gate. Similar signs were affixed at Breadsall Station Crossing, at Windmill Bridleway and at the A608 bridge, where contractors were erecting more fencing at the road junction. They had earlier installed a field access point to allow horses onto the path from a nearby riding school.
Time then for a return to Morrisons for tea and cakes before making our way home in the gathering darkness. How short the days are now, but a great day out in good company, and some useful work done.

Nude Rangers Calendar...would sell like the proverbial Mavis's hot Cakes at the 'Sustrans shop'. I look forward to the chance to audition for 'Mr August' complete with appropriately positioned bike pump.
Unfortunately, we have to take the photos in the winter, even if you are chosen as Mr. August, so maybe you needn't bother to bring your bike pump.
