Vandalism on the Breadsall Greenway

Since we installed our first seat on the Breadsall Greenway some 15 months ago, there have been several attempts at relatively minor vandalism, but the seat has remained useable, albeit sinking deeper into the ground due to the local idiots jumping up and down on it.
The seat has resisted an arson attack and John Swan has done a great job in regularly overpainting graffiti on the seat.
Sadly we find today that the seat is now wrecked by the latest attack.
The good news is that the vandals were not able to wrench the seat out of the ground completely as it has a metal bar buried under the ground, joining the two legs.
One can only hope that the vandals suffered a hernia as a result of their efforts.

Les has suggested that we do not attempt repair/replacement just now. I completely agree. We can hope that the seat will become a symbol for the locals to see what can happen, and thus make them more aware of what is happening on THEIR Greenway. Strangly, many passers by have not noticed this seat, being as it was, outside the Greenway fencing.
