Routine Report of Retired Rangers Riding Road Route to Ripley for Review of Restored Redundant Railway Relics and Repast in Refreshment Room

No less than twelve Rangers turned up at the Midland Railway Centre at Butterley, near Ripley, on Wednesday 11th March for a guided tour of the works and facilities.
We are grateful to our guide Stuart Smith who kept us interested all afternoon with detailed explanations of what we were looking at. What a superb site it is, and how hard they have all worked over the last 45 years to bring it to this standard. No doubt they would say that there is much yet to be done, but it is surely one of the major tourist attractions in Derbyshire.
