The National Trust

To kick off the visitor season. the National Trust are giving free entry to non-members over the coming weekend. This does not apply to all their properties, but it does include Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and Sudbury Hall.  Free entry with downloadable voucher.
To benefit from this, click on voucher which will take you to the appropriate page of the NT web site.
We are having a Rangers Ride to Calke Abbey on Sunday 20th March to take advantage of this offer.
Route via NCN Route 6 and meeting at Swarkestone Lock at 10am.
Good free car parking at Swarkestone if you don't wish to cycle all the way.
The ride from R6 to Calke is very scenic, and there are plenty of good cafes and pubs in the area, including one at Calke Abbey, so no need to bring any refreshment.
If you haven't been to Calke Abbey previously, this is an opportunity not to miss. The whole place is in a time warp, rather like some of us.
