Bird Box Project

Well here they are at last. This year's contribution to solving the housing shortage for birds on the Mickleover Greenway.
We had hoped to have them up in the trees before the end of February, but delays at the college where they were made have meant that we are only just in time for the breeding season.
You will see that the boxes are not all the same size, but they do bear a passing resemblance to the drawing given to the students (presumably not students of carpentry).
However, the birds will not be too fussy, and the people who have sponsored the boxes will only see them from ground level, thank goodness.
All boxes are numbered so that sponsors can identify their box and so that the birds know where they live.  The numbers start at 5 as we already have four boxes in place.
A metal plate is fitted over each entrance hole to prevent woodpeckers and squirrels enlarging it.
So, no time to lose now. We will put them up in the trees on Tuesday afternoon (2pm at Sutton Lane Bridge). Please come along if you are free, like climbing trees, or are a monkey.

Will be there on Tuesday. Do we need to bring a ladder if we are not monkeys?

No need to bring anything, as I will bring my ladder, nails, tools and of course the bird boxes.
