549 at Hatton now open
Just wanted to let you know that the new bridlepath around Nestle is now open. There is still alot of work to be done in regard to landscaping, but Nestle wanted to get it open so they are able to apply to close the orginal path. Both paths are currently open and will be until mid February.
The surface had to be changed as Tarmac were unable to supply the amount of TopTrec that was required. The surface that has gone down is very good and meets all council greenway (and Sustrans) requirements! Although it does currently look like the yellow brick road from the wizard of oz!
The new Salt Brook has had its work cut out with all the rain, and at one point was only a couple of feet off being full!
If you get chance to go down, please let me know what you think.

Thanks Yvonne, I will have a look hopefully on New Years Day. Happy New Year to you! Phil & Sue
Great news here Yvonne and perfect timing to end 2012 after all the problems that we have had elsewhere.
Thanks for all your good work in liaising with the various authorities during the planning and construction work.
We look forward to cycling along the new path ASAP.
This looks brilliant and looking forward to cycling along it very soon. The contractors have done extremely well to complete it in view of all the bad weather we have encountered recently.
I rode it yesterday from Hatton throught to Marston. Whilst it obviously needs landscaping, the stretch by the stream promises joys to come.
Does it need any signing? If so, are there any Contractor/Local Authority plans to do so?
Signs are in hand, Nestle are sorting them out. Although the new path can't be offically signed until after the Judicial review period has come to an end.
Will keep you posted if we need to do any additional ones.
