May Gurney, the contractors for the new Long Horse Bridge, have established
a base in the car park off Wilne Lane. A temporary road has been laid from
there alongside the canal towpath to the Trent. The towpath is walkable
except for the last 200 metres to the Trent. A wire fence blocks the way
and the temporary road runs on the towpath from this point onward.
