Friar Gate traffic rule changes
Tomorrow, 31st May 2011, sees the final part of the major roadworks that have been taking place in Derby for what seems like forever, with the change on Friar Gate to two way for buses and cycles. This means that great care must be taken when negotiating this area. Details are in today's edition of The Derby Evening Telegraph and will need some study to be sure how the system is negotiated. Reminds me of the late forties and early fifties, when cycling from Leicester to Derbyshire for a weekend Youth Hostelling, and return. It was possible then to cycle straight through Derby, stopping at the milk bar on the Spot, and along London Road via Shardlow and Kegworth, Loughborough and home.
