Those were the Days (18)

The current spell of severe winter weather has temporarily put paid to most of our cycling activities, and we have seen enough of ice, snow, frozen fingers and burst pipes to last for a while. Photographs of snow are no longer a novelty.
The shortest day of 2010 is now history and we can look forward to better times ahead.
So what better to cheer us up than a picture of Springtime in Derby with daffodils blooming in the River Gardens, and Exeter Bridge, junction of most of our major local NCN Routes in the background.
Photograph taken in 2005, before the construction of the Swing Bridge and the Jurys Hotel.
Most of our cycle rides start from the bridge and venture in all directions, North, South, East and West, to the boundaries of the County of Derbyshire and beyond.
The last year was not an easy one for us, with more than a few frustrations and we know not what the next twelve months will bring, but of one thing we can be sure, and that is that we will be out there on our bikes, wearing shorts and perhaps even complaining that it's too hot!

Thanks for all your invaluable help during the year and may I wish you all a Very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
