Those were the Days (16)

In June every year the CTC hold their National Rally (now called the York Cycle Show) on the Racecourse in York, and on the Sunday morning there is a service in York Minster. Hundreds of cyclists attend on a variety of bikes, and this photograph shows some of them arriving at the Minster in 2003.

After the service there is a mass ride back to the Racecourse, with much good humour, and some fascinating bikes of all kinds to be seen.

In 2011 the event will be held on the weekend 25th/26th June. There is camping available on the Racecourse at very reasonable rates, and although you can book in advance, the venue is so large that there will always be room for latecomers.

A great occasion for cyclists, with lots of activities to suit all interersts.
