Those were the Days (11)

The Great Northern Railway had a pedestrian bridge which carried the footpath from Mickleover to Radbourne and this was in place when the Greenway was opened up as NCN Route 54. See top left photo.
Unfortunately, it became the haunt of the local idiots, who used to throw things down onto people passing below. Once when I was on holiday in Scotland, a lady rang on my mobile phone to say that some youths had thrown a TV set off the bridge. Being 350 miles away, there wasn't much that I could do about it just then.
However, we did eventually get DCC to bring in contractors to remove the bridge. See centre right photo.
It was replaced by a ramp on the one side, and steps on the other.
See bottom left photo.
