On Wednesday 17th February the Community Payback Team pruned another length of R54 between The Pink Bridge and Sutton Lane Bridge, leaving some large piles of debris for us to dispose of.
There will be yet another bonfire on Saturday next 20th February with (hopefully) light up at about 9.30am.

You have had a glorious day for the bonfire. How many matches used today?
Johns
When I arrived at 09:45 the fire was going well and had consumed (I was assured) just a single match. As we "cloned" two more fires to try to increase the consumption rate that works out a one third of a match per fire. Not bad. By the end of the morning the fire temperature was such that it had melted the surface of the adjoining path which up til then had been relatively solid. We also attracted a number of assistant stokespersons from the local community as they passed by. Sadly, there was neither cake nor sausage rolls to fortify us as we toiled.
