Work at Breadsall

A grey Monday morning at Breadsall today, but not bad enough weather to deter us from re-siting one of our seats after it had been vandalised on it's original site overlooking the Meteor Centre.
It is now positioned at the top of the slope down to the Windmill Bridleway, where there will be a fine view across the fields in the better days to come. Westbound walkers will be glad of this resting point after climbing the 1 in 20 slope up from the bridleway.
Also a new fixing method for seats on embankments. Two long horizontal timbers are driven into the bank behind the seat as can be seen in the upper photograph.
The lower photograph shows Ian Dent taking a breather whilst John Swan carries on with digging the holes for the telegraph pole legs.
Steve Adams also came along to help.
This seat is part of our SSSI project. No - not Site of Special Scientific Interest -this is Seats for Sitting in the Sunshine Initiative.
