Rangers Work Days

After the Christmas break and the recent spell of bad weather, you will be pleased (?) to know that we can now resume our winter work days.
The Community Payback Team are also back in action (they have holidays too) and will be returning to Sutton Lane Etwall on Wednesday next 27th January.
We have some tidying up to do in that area, so our workday will be Saturday 30th January. Anytime after 9am.
Also there is work to do at Breadsall, installing the seat which was originally sited overlooking the Meteor Centre, and subsequently vandalised. This is to be re-positioned on a better site on the slope down to the Windmill Bridleway.
We are proposing to do this job on Monday 25th January. Meet at Breadsall Station at 9.30am.
Some time ago we were asked to install bike stands adjacent to our seats, but at the time had neither materials nor the time. We have now acquired materials for six stands. They are two wooden posts with cross pieces adjoining and so very simple to construct on site. Hopefully, we can put in the first one alongside the Breadsall seat next Monday and do the others as time permits.

I'm sure I speak for all my colleagues in saying how pleased I am to have some real work to do???
The blue plastic Sustrans signs are about 290 x 200mm so we could cut one in half to provide backing for 2 dog dirt signs. I have 3 "secondhand" ones we could use. All we need then is someone to provide reading tuition for dogs. (Or a LandRover and an AK47)

This is an unrelated comment, but just thought i'd let people know that the riverside cycle track between Raynesway and Borrowash appears to have been reopened.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) Derby at at home to Notts Forrest (!) with a 1.00 pm start so not sure I can spend too much time with the working party. Not sure I can make Monday either.
