Many of you will remember Esther Wadsworth, one of our original R54 Rangers who went to live in the the US a couple of years ago. Well, the news is that she is returning to live back in Derbyshire in April, so we hope to see her then.
She will be living in Cromford, so I'm not sure that we can persuade her to become a Derby Ranger again, but we should see her around in Derby and perhaps can invite her to join us for a meal at Don Amott's cafe. After the Farewell Party, a Welcome Back Party.
Searching for a photograph of her, I found this one, which, by an amazing co-incidence, was taken exactly four years ago, to the very day, when we had a Rangers Ride to Attenborough Nature Reserve. Looks as though the weather was better in 2006 too.
Also in the picture (taken by Peter Ford) are Alan Locke, Martin Aldred and me.
Don't we look young? Well, we were younger - by four years.

Cant blame her. Compared with Seattle's winters, this recent spell of weather would seem like a summer day.
We will be pleased to welcome her back and maybe, when the Derwent Greenway is complete, she and Clyde can become Rangers on it.
We could maybe go to that fascinating bookshop/cafe in Cromford to give her a welcome back snack?? There are hourly trains to Matlock now (as well as the TP bus)
Ye gods, I am on the Treck. have I really had it that long!
I look forward to tea and cakes in Cromford.
