A Kind Thought for Christmas

During the early part of 2009, a rangers work party was clearing vegetation to improve views of the veteran tree at Mickleover and to install a seat for public use.
Amongst the tangled vegetation we found a small Christmas tree growing. It was a poor speciman, presumably grown from a wind blown seed and suffering by being surrounded by it's more vigorous neighbours. So we cut down the neighbouring brambles and small trees to give the Christmas tree more chance of survival.
Obviously some members of the public have appreciated our actions and they have now decorated the little tree for Christmas 2009.
How nice!
