Diversion of NCN Route 6 in the Raynesway area.

If using this section of R6 look out for, and observe, the diversions to the route away from the riverside. See this article:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/derbyshire/8336654.stm

I will check that there are indeed diversion signs later this week.

Update 3/11

There are some diversion signs, mostly at the eastern end where the route is obvious. There are no signs along Raynesway/Alvaston by-pass. I have ordered some yellow Sustrans diversion signs and will apply them when received. The temporary path from the riverside to the A6 is being partly used by the Contractor's dump trucks and will soon be a soggy mess, particularly if we have more rain.

They must have saved money by using this valuable cycling resource. I hope all the future revenue is used to improve local cycle facilities.

The bit of the diversion route running from the riverside path to the cycle path alongside the Alvaston bypass is already virtually unrideable (especially on the way home from work in the dark no matter how good your lights are)....
