Latest on the Breadsall Greenway

The position of the orignal signal box at Breadsall Station is now clearly marked by dwarf walling as is the lamp shed which stood opposite. The floors of both buildings were still intact and are now visible.
The large concrete post was the hinge end support for the level crossing gates. At the other (latch) end was a wooden post.
Some further brickwork is in hand to mark, in a similar fashion, one end of the station itself.
We understand that efforts are being made to obtain a level crossing gate and this would complete a very interesting little collection of railway relics.

The landslip on the embankment of the slope to the A608 bridge is being strengthened by the addition of infill at the base, so more earthmoving required.
Still lots of fencing and gateing yet to be done.
