Peter Ford gives a briefng to the riders before starting the 30 mile Sustrans Ride from the Bike Radar Live Event at Donington Park last weekend.
Together with a Sustrans Stall we ran public rides out into the surounding countryside and these proved to be quite popular.
The 30 mile ride took them along NCN Route 6 to Alvaston Park in Derby, Elvaston Castle, Staunton Harold and Calke Abbey using NCN Route 6 so far as possible.
Keith Lycett had devised an 8 mile ride for the less energetic and this took them over to Melbourne to see the Hall and the Pool. One of the shorter rides attracted a group of 25 riders who were led by Keith and escorted by four supporting Rangers.
