I was just back from France in time to go on the Cycle 4 Supper ride, which took place yesterday evening. This was organized as part of the Heanor Festival taking place all this week, and supported by Derbyshire County Council and the local Heart and Sole walking and cycling group. The aim of the event was to encourage people who used to cycle, or who cycle only occasionally, back onto their bikes for an enjoyable evening ride in and around Shipley Country Park, followed by well-earned supper of soup with a roll and butter. A total of 15 did the ride from Shipley to Straw's Bridge, along the Nutbrook Trail, and back to Shipley via the ex-mining area near Mapperley, on a beautiful sunny evening, and everyone enjoyed it enormously, despite the hills. Picture shows some of the riders before the start.
