There was a general concenus amongst us that this splendid sunny but chilly day should be spent, in a leisurely fashion. I think we had all been extended by our week's previous activities.
Route 6 to Melbourne and our first stop at the ' Welcome Cafe ' where we found cakes to rival even Mavis's splendid efforts. On along Staunton Harold reservoir trail, through Calke Abbey (no charge) and I think we did feel ' Posh ' riding up that tree lined avenue to the great house. Next to Staunton Harold garden centre for some lunch and then off to Worthington, the sun kept coming through lighting-up the countryside as we reconnected with R6 and the way home. A simple relaxing day out on the bikes.
