Workdays at Mickleover

With Spring coming along and the birds ready for nesting, we have few opportunities to do much more pruning. Also the glow worms will be soon trimming their wicks for what we hope will be a good light display on the Summer evenings to come. This will preclude (human) activity on the cleared area between Wendy's Seat and the Black Wood path.
A final couple of workdays therefore to finish this particular job off until the Autumn.
So it's 9am at the Veteran Tree on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th April for a general tidy up in that area with pruning of the many saplings which threaten to grow into trees close to the cycle path.
Keith Lycett has been busy making some nest boxes which we intend to put up, hoping we are not too late. He has also been busy making a seat which we will be installing on Mickleover Meadows (where R54 passes through Mick/Mack Park) probably during the week before Easter. The Friends of Mickleover Meadows are paying us to do this so it will be a useful addition to our funds.
