Great Northern Jewellery

Apart from the alignment, gradients and bridges little remains of the original Great Northern Railway infrastructure. However, there are a few gems hidden among the trees and undergrowth.

A few supports for the signal operating wires still exist.

Remains of signal wire support, just to West of MP 149

This looks very much like the fixed reference points used for track alignment. Or it could be a support for a signal wire?
