The paint appears to be in excellent condition but is coated in muck sprayed from countless passing juggernauts.Les Simshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05047408259184589064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-49687685545388205632011-12-29T19:50:12.344+00:002011-12-29T19:50:12.344+00:00I plan to be at Mickleover for 10am (to start the ...I plan to be at Mickleover for 10am (to start the year as I mean to go on??)BirdyRednoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-87635909433700869152011-12-28T22:24:34.150+00:002011-12-28T22:24:34.150+00:00I hope to be able to join you at EtwallI hope to be able to join you at EtwallAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-8672669544376796672011-12-25T18:55:56.601+00:002011-12-25T18:55:56.601+00:00At the time - As part of an experiment, I painted ...At the time - As part of an experiment, I painted different posts in different paints. This post was painted entirely with Hammerite, so I doubt that it is in as bad a state as it appears. I had intended to go down there with a wet rag and some good floor cleaner. It should work miracles.
If the post is as bad as suggested it means that Dulux outdoor paint is better than Hammerite as that was used on the post at the junction of the R54/68.Trexriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09995319882297281027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-86157476820092619232011-12-24T23:25:22.098+00:002011-12-24T23:25:22.098+00:00This milepost has a hard life being close to the h...This milepost has a hard life being close to the high speed traffic on the A38. It is constantly sprayed with water from passing juggernauts and in the winter, lots of salt.
No wonder it has deteriorated quicker than any of our other mileposts.
It was last painted by Alan Locke some years ago.Les Simshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05047408259184589064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-47753381168778082432011-12-24T19:29:50.389+00:002011-12-24T19:29:50.389+00:00En route please check out the rather neglected and...En route please check out the rather neglected and therefore rusty, flaky milepost at the side of the A38 between Eggington & Stretton. Would a new home with a a lick or two of paint be a good idea? Would it be possibly to load it onto a bike trailer? Only half joking!

ShawnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-33546612957776847332011-12-24T08:51:23.868+00:002011-12-24T08:51:23.868+00:00And, they have no objections to Photography :-))And, they have no objections to Photography :-))Trexriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09995319882297281027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424806944441252350.post-72160672699308880042011-12-23T19:25:23.839+00:002011-12-23T19:25:23.839+00:00Yes please.
